Aleksandra Chciuk
A visual and sound artist. She graduated from the Lodz Film School, the University of Łódź and the Music School. She works with video art, photography and painting. Creating short videos she looks into sound phenomena, examines their influence on the state of mind and reactions of the human body, and analyses the psychological and musical relations between humans and nature. She makes audio performances – often experimenting with the techniques of instrument preparation – as well as installations and interactive site-specific sound objects. Her exhibitions are almost always accompanied by her music happenings and concerts. She has been running the Audiosfera Studio at the Academy of Art Łódź since 2019.
She has presented her works in such galleries and museums as: MMCA in Seoul, Center for the Arts in Boston, Siddhartha Art Gallery in Kathmandu, Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Atlas Sztuki and Museum of Art in Łódź. She also performs at festivals of modern and experimental music, such as: Warsaw Autumn, Installations, Musica Moderna, and Musica Privata. She improvises live and composes music for choreographic performances and films. She creates spontaneously improvised music.
