Beata Marcinkowska
An intermedia artist and art animator. She looks into various aspects of modern human life, its identity, culturally attributed features, as well as the symbolism of a female body. She implements her own artistic projects: objects, installations, collages, land art and performances. She has participated in individual and collective exhibitions, artistic actions, transmedia and site-specific activities in Poland and abroad. She is the author of workshops and artistic projects for children and adults. She has carried out research projects analysing how children and adolescents are equipped for a full and active reception of contemporary art, and looking for the right direction for the development of artistic education in the context of new media and intermedia tendencies. She is also the author and co-author of publications, including textbooks for children and adolescents.
She is a member of the Art and Documentation Association, as well as the Polish Committee of the International Society for Education through Art (InSEA). She has been working with Frakcja (Fraction) – an intergenerational group of female artists and art academics, since 2018. She is a lecturer at the Strzemiński Academy of Art in Łódź, where she also heads the Institute of Artistic Education.
